of the Portuguese Association for Anglo-American Studies (APEAA)

Announcement and Call for Papers
The 20th Annual Conference of APEAA will held from the 25th to the 27th
March 1999. The event is being jointly organised by the Institute of
English Studies and the Institute of North-American Studies (Faculty of
Letters, University of Oporto), and the chosen venue is Hotel Vermar,
Povoa de Varzim.
It is an open, general conference
The conference will include four plenary sessions, presented by Profs.
Alvaro Pina, Roy Foster, Ruth Levitas and George Monteiro, as well as a
number of panel sessions, representing the diversity of research
interests of members and other participants.
Registration
Up until the 31st December 1998 the registration fee for APEAA members will
be PTE10.000, including the welcoming dinner at Hotel Vermar, all coffee
breaks and a copy of the conference proceedings. After the 31st December,
the fee will be PTE. 15.000. The registration fee for non-members will be
PTE 15.000; students will pay a reduced fee of PTE 7.500.
If you wish to present a paper, please enclose the title and an abstract
of no more than 200 words, so that your paper may be accepted and
included in a session of similar research interests.
Papers should not exceed 20 minutes.
Please enclose a short biographic profile too, including academic
experience and published work.
