Update: New deadline for proposals
Second Annual John Gardner Conference
at Genesee Community College
in Batavia, NY
April 16 & 17, 1999
Call for Papers, Workshops, Roundtables
We are seeking one-page abstracts of proposals for the Second Annual John
Gardner Conference. Topics concerning his fiction, non-fiction, operas,
drama, or poetry, will be considered. In addition, sessions on approaches
to teaching his fiction, his methods of teaching, and on using his works for
creative writing will be considered. All abstracts must be received by
February 15, 1999. The proceedings of the conference will be published on
the John Gardner Society website at
www.sunygenesee.cc.ny.us/fac/boyd/gardner.htm.
(Papers from the 1998 conference are online for those interested)
Arrangements are being made for interested attendees to visit the John
Gardner Collection at the University of Rochester to view a special display
of Lies! Lies! Lies!, a new compilation of writings from his journals to be
published in March, 1999.
