Special Session for the MLA conference
in Chicago, 1999.
"Cyborg Aversions"
This panel considers distinctions between the human and the
non-human as constructed by writers of different periods in
reaction to emergent technologies that force them to reconsider
definitions of the body, the self, the intellect, or other
such constructions.
Treatments of works from any period are acceptable, and papers
using texts from centuries other than our own are particularly
welcome.
