the University of North Carolina at Asheville

April 30-May 2, 1999

Featured speaker: Sarah Schulman, writer and activist, author of Shimmer,
Rat Bohemia, and Stagestruck: Theater, AIDS, and the Marketing of Gay
America

Completed papers or abstracts not exceeding 500 words should be submitted
by March 1 in the following categories:

--political action, activism, and hate crimes
--race, class, and queerness
--post-gay?: inter-generational conflict
--pedagogy and practice
--prospects for the new millenium
