Subject: FOOT Call for Papers
CALL FOR PAPERS
F.O.O.T. is the annual Festival of Original Theatre
organized by the Graduate Centre for Study of Drama,
University of Toronto. The theme of the 1999 Festival is
Obsessions and Possessions. The Festival runs from April 28
- May 1, and will include performances, post-performance
workshops/discussions, and academic papers.
The F.O.O.T. Academic Steering Committee is now accepting
proposals for academic papers exploring, but not limited to,
the following themes:
* Homogeneity and Difference
* Interculturalism/Cultural Appropriation
* Postcoloniality
* The Body
* Perversion
* Power Relations
* Sado-masochism
* Scopophilia
* Fetishization
* Authenticity, Originality, Tradition
* Hybridity
* Intertextuality
* Translation
Submissions are encouraged from disciplines outside of the
Humanities as long as they are centred around Drama/Theatre.
Accepted proposals would have a maximum of 20-minute
speaking time.
Proposals should include your name, address, telephone and
fax numbers, email address if available, title of paper, and
a 500-word abstract. Please ensure that your proposal is
mailed to at least one of the following addresses:
