CFP: Medieval Lit (3/15; PAMLA, 11/5-11/7)

A session on Medieval Literature will be part of the 1999 annual meeting of
PAMLA (Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association, the western division
of the MLA). The conference will be held November 5-7, 1999, at Portland
State University in Portland, Oregon.

This panel focuses on later-medieval, non-Chaucerian literature: in addition
to this more generally described "Medieval Literature" session, PAMLA offers
both a "Chaucer and Related Topics" session as well as a "Beowulf and
Related Topics" session. Even bearing in mind these boundaries, the topic
for this session remains incredibly broad; I would be thrilled to put
together a panel demonstrating a diverse range of interests.

Please send a TWO-PAGE PROPOSAL and a 50-WORD ABSTRACT (completed papers
are also encouraged) by MARCH 15, 1999, to:
