                CALL FOR PAPERS
for a special session that has been accepted for
presentation at PAMLA's (Pacific Ancient and Modern Language
Assoc.,the Pacific regional MLA) 1999 annual meeting.
PAMLA's annual meeting will take place at Portland State Univ.,
Portland, Oregon, from November 5-7, 1999.

        Literature and the Natural Environment

I welcome proposals on literatures of all origins, genres, and
periods, and on nature writing texts and on those outside of
this genre. While the panel is open to a range of critical
approaches, special attention will be given to proposals
exhibiting genuine interest in the intersections and relationships
between literature and the physical world.

Please send queries or 2-page proposals AND a 50-word abstract
