I am chairing a session on "Assimilation in American Literature" which
would include papers or panel to discuss the author's attitude toward
assimilation or resistance to assimilation or hybridity
in the fiction of first or second-generation American or Canadian immigrant
writers.

The conference is The Central New York Conference on Language and
Literature, at Cortland College, SUNY, Cortland, New York on October 3-5,
