BRIDGES AND BORDERS IN LITERATURE AND FILM

Faculty and graduate student submission of one-page abstracts of papers is
invited on any aspect of the conference theme, critical or pedagogical.
Suggestions:

* Literature of all nations and all centuries
* Film adaptations of plays or novels
* Film or literature crossing the borders of genre
* Interdisciplinary topics
* Film or literature of the immigrant or emigré
* Film or literature concerning philosophical, moral, temporal,
        psychological, ethnic, or racial conflicts
* Film or literature concerning political or geographical borders (Canada,
        Mexico, etc.)

Full panel proposals are welcome, for example, a panel on film adaptations
of plays by twentieth-century American playwrights. Include abstracts of
each paper for the proposed panel.

Papers must be readable in fifteen minutes.

Send one-page abstracts by JULY 1, 1999 to:
