"MANIFEST DESTINY AND DISCOVERING AMERICA IN THE TWENTIETH CENTURY"

The Twentieth-Century American Literature panel seeks papers that address
any aspect of late twentieth-century American literature with special favor
given to those papers which discuss the idea of frontiers and exploration
in the (post)modern age. Topics may include:

--Exploring America in Cyberspace
--"Go West, Young Man": Gendering the West
--Technologies of Discovery in the late 20th century
--Queer Borders/ Queer Destiny
--Images of the American West/Empire in Modern Film/Drama
--Cowboys and Indians: Icons of the West
--Postmodern (post) American literature
--Homecomings: The American Mythos Now
