CFP: Ernest Hemingway and Religion (11/1/00; collection)

From: Andrew_Spencer (Andrew_Spencer@BAYLOR.EDU)
Date: Mon Apr 19 1999 - 12:45:55 EDT

This is an initial call for manuscripts for a collection of essays on ERNEST
HEMINGWAY and RELIGION. The collection itself will be composed of approximately
twelve to fifteen essays.

The editor seeks essays that address any aspect of religion as it manifests
itself (or fails to manifest itself) in the works of Ernest Hemingway.
The focus of the collection as outlined here is broad, and it is so on
purpose, in the hopes that potential contributors will explore the boundaries
of this complex relationship, and perhaps even challenge those boundaries.
All theoretical perspectives will be considered, and papers need not limit
themselves to fiction or novels. The editor welcomes discussions of biographical
studies and works of non-fiction, in addition to examinations of works
of fiction.

Submissions should be approximately twenty pages in length, inclusive
of endnotes, in MLA style. Please send two copies of blind manuscript
with cover letter to:
