The deadline for submission of abstracts has been extended for the
Contemporary Drama session at the Central New York Conference on Language
and Literature to be held October 3-5, 1999 in Cortland, NY (at SUNY
Cortland). The new deadline is July 10, 1999.
The session will focus on trends in American and British theatre since the
advent of AIDS, specifically on how queer theatre has assumed
greater primacy and how "mainstream" theatre has responded. Works
from before the early 80s may be included for contextualization, and
related topics are also welcome.
NOTE: There is also a Modern Drama session at the conference which is
focusing on plays written prior to the the "angry young men."
