ATTENTION DRAMATURGS AND DIRECTORS!!!!!

Updated Call For Papers: TEXT INTO PERFORMANCE: FROM THE PAGE TO THE
STAGE

Ninth Annual Central New York Conference on Language and Literature
SUNY-Cortland, October 3-5, 1999

Abstracts (approximately 250 words) or completed papers are being accepted
for "Text Into Performance: From the Page to the Stage," a special
session of the Central New York Conference on Language and Literature
(October 3-5, 1999 in Cortland, NY). Due to a popular consensus at last
year's conference, this panel was formed to address the specific issues
related to performance of dramatic and non-dramatic texts. The chair is
soliciting dramaturgs and directors to contribute performance studies,
such as production notebooks, to the panel. Other papers which are of
special interest would deal with analyses of particular works in
production, such as retrospectives of directors' careers or rehearsal
techniques as relating to the staged texts. Studies of works from any
time period or theatrical genre are welcome.

Papers need not be limited to the performance of theatrical works;
experimental performances of poetry, prose, etc., will be considered as
well.

Deadline for submissions is July 1, 1999, but informal email inquiries
are welcome until June 15, 1999.

Please send abstracts, along with CV, to:
