"Edgar Allan Poe: Icon and Influence in Contemporary Literature" at the
North East Modern Language Association annual conference in Buffalo (April
6-8, 2000). This panel will reassess Poe's position in the canon at this
(NEMLA'S) first meeting of the new century, especially his position in our
current conception of the romantic tradition, southern literature,
post-modernism, science fiction, and other areas.
