Call for Papers for the Area Images of American Presidents in Film.
February 9-12, 2000
In light of today's study on the Presidency and the election of 2000, more
and more films are presenting images of American Presidents both current and
past. What are these films actually portraying about the institution of the
Presidency? How do the imaginary film presidents relate to the actual ones of
the times presented?
How does the current C-SPAN series on American Presidents relate to today's
search for self and meaning? Is it a coincident that C-SPAN has made such a
series as we approach a new century?
Present a paper on your aspect of how the Presidents of America have been
portrayed by Hollywood. Let us in on how you view what you have viewed.
