Shakespeare in Popular Culture
Popular Culture / American Culture Association Conference
Marriott Hotel, New Orleans
April 19-22, 2000
This area welcomes explorations of the Bard's presence in contemporary
popular culture, with a particular interest in the his place in American
culture. Though past papers have largely focused on Shakespeare in film--
as Shakespearean-inspired films have recently proliferated--
his rich influence on popular fiction, music, television, theatre, and
other aspects of popular culture has barely been scratched.
