Major Texts in Asian American Literature: A Teacher's Resource

We are seeking contributors for a collection designed to provide resource
materials for teachers of introductory college students and advanced high
school students in the area of Asian American literature. Focusing on the
most widely taught Asian American authors, the book provides teachers with
brief essays on pedagogical techniques, an overview of the historical and
cultural context of the texts, relevant criticism, and comprehensive
bibliographies for further study. For the essay on pedagogy, we encourage
contributions with a wide range of pedagogical approaches, including those
based on interdisciplinary studies, pedagogy of the oppressed theories,
and collaborative learning models. A consideration of gender balance,
community representation, historical and cultural consent, accessibility
to a high school and two-year college audience, and genre representation
informs our author selection.
