Call for Papers: Sir John Mandeville, Judaism, Jerusalem (collection, 30/11)

We are in the process of collecting a series of essays that will update
the state of studies on Sir John Mandeville=B4s Travels. Most of the
team of contributors for the collection is assembled, but we still have
room for a couple of contributions or three: at this point, these would
have to be centered, however, on the following subjects:

-Mandeville=B4s representation of Jerusalem, the role of that city as a
sign and a site in the world-view of the Travels.

-Mandeville=B4s perspectives on Jewish culture; the contrasting
representations of Islam and Jewishness in the text.

-Forms of labour and material culture in the Travels.

Please send your proposals and abstracts, along with a brief cv, to Dr.
Joan Curbet, at the Universitat Aut=F2noma de Barcelona( e-mail
literature@tecnogrup.com )as soon as possible, and before the end of
November. We look forward to hearing from you.
