CALL FOR PAPERS: TEXAS CULTURE

      The Southwest Texas Popular Culture Association and the American
Culture Association regional conference will be in Albuquerque, New Mexico on
February 9-12, 2000, at the Sheraton Old Town Hotel, 800 Rio Grande Blvd.,

                  * language * religion

                  * clothing * race and
ethnicity

                  * politics * history

                  * settlement patterns * organizations

     Culture can also be approached as the manner in which we survive by
struggling with the environment, in time, the elements of that struggle -
practices, habits, traditions, customs, and beliefs - become institutions
which make up our culture.
