Call for Papers, Journal of Asian American Studies, 3:3, on Cultural Production
Guest-edited by Soo-Young Chin, Peter X Feng, Elaine H. Kim and Josephine Lee
We would like to announce a call for papers for the Journal of Asian
American Studies, 3:3. This issue will examine various sites of Asian
American cultural production, including but not limited to film, theatre,
music, dance, visual arts, literature, popular culture, and museum
exhibitions. Essays on cultural production specific to ethnic,
pan-ethnic, and cross-racial communities and collaborations will all be
considered. How do specific venues define local, regional, national,
and/or global identities? What are the various configurations of Asian
American culture? We invite essays about any aspect of cultural
production, such as, for example, creative development and funding; the
politics of installation; performance practice and production.
Deadline for articles: March 15, 2000. For more information about the
Journal of Asian American Studies, including guidelines for submission of
manuscripts, please see the Association for Asian American Studies webpage.
