Call for Papers: Multi-Cultural Ecological Poetry

I have put together a collection of essays on ecological poetry that has
received very favorable responses from a number of university presses.
One of the contributors to the volume recently had to withdraw her
essay, and I now need to replace it. I am looking for a paper examining
some aspect of multi-cultural nature poetry or ecological poetry.

Possible topics might include, but are not restricted to, treatment of
any of the following:

cultural differences in the way nature is portrayed in contemporary
poetry

the human/nonhuman boundary in contemporary poetry

eco-theory and contemporary poetry

forerunners of ecological poetry

non-literary influences on contemporary nature poetry

the "social construction" of nature in poetry

the genre of contemporary nature poetry

an individual ecological poet

ecological themes in an individual author not usually considered a
"nature poet"

If you have an essay to propose for inclusion in this volume, please
e-mail me at your earliest convenience at sbryson@sulross.edu or phone
me at 830-278-8888. The essay doesn't need to be complete, but I will
want to get an abstract and title before long.

Thanks very much.

Scott Bryson
