CFP: Mixing It Up: Racing and Erasing
We invite essays for a proposed interdisciplinary collection on
multiraciality. We seek investigations into the experience of multiracial
identity, transracial families, mixed race relationships, cross race
adoption, etc. In an era preoccupied with racial classifications, how do
the various experiences of multiraciality operate within and against these
categories? How can multiraciality work to erase the efforts of racial
communities to mobilize politically? Alternately, how might
multiraciality facilitate the recognition of difference?
The ideal essay will interweave personal experiences with a more scholarly
approach. Please follow the latest edition of the MLA Manual of Style and
include a CV with your submission.
