Restoration and Eighteenth-Century English Literature:
Erotic Literature and the Emergence of Pornography

Papers focusing on any aspect of eroticism or pornography in the long
eighteenth century are welcome. Of particular interest are papers
dealing with the genre of pornography as it was under construction
during this period, as well as papers that consider the emergence of
pornography in the eighteenth century to be relevant to or visible in
current trends in pornography. Papers also may entertain questions of
the role of pornography and eroticism in culture, in discourses of the
public and private, in gendered reading practices, in libertinism, or in
political scandal, to name only a few potential contexts.

Papers no longer than twenty minutes.
