WRITING:
Film and Popular Culture in the Composition Classroom

Papers focusing on the uses of film or other pop cultural media
(television shows, popular music, magazines and newspapers, websites,
etc.) in the writing or composition class are welcome. Of particular
interest are papers that address the ways in which strictly visual
(film, television) as well as aural (pop music) texts can help better
student writing. Papers also may entertain questions of the usefulness
of the media in the composition classrooms.

Please: papers no longer than 15 twenty minutes.

One-page abstracts must be postmarked by 1 July, 2000, and sent to:
