    BRITISH SOCIETY FOR EIGHTEENTH-CENTURY STUDIES

    ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2001

    3-5 JANUARY 2001

    ST JOHN'S COLLEGE OXFORD

    The conference will feature plenary addresses by Annie Janowitz and
    Thomas Laqueur. To offer a proposal for a 25-minute paper on any aspect of
    eighteenth-century culture or science, please send a 200-word abstract to
    the President, Janet Todd by 30 September (note the revised deadline); or to
    attend the conference without giving a paper, request an application
    form direct from the 2001 Conference Organiser, Valerie Rumbold.

    Ten small bursaries of £50, payable at the conference, are available for
    graduate students who are giving papers and who are paid-up members of
    BSECS.
