    NATIONAL (SHORT) FILM INDUSTRIES

    SOCIETY FOR CINEMA STUDIES CONFERENCE 2001
    MAY 24-27, 2001 -- WASINGTON, DC

    The presence of the short film has grown recently with its prominence on
    the Internet, but historically the short film has had a significant impact
    on the formation of national cinematic industries. This panel will explore
    the contribution of the short film to the study of film, particularly in
    an international context.

    Please submit an SCS Standard Abstract Form, short bio and 300-400 word
