Call for Papers: 32nd Annual College English Association Conference
    Memphis, TN April 4-8, 2001
Eidolons: Songs of Ourselves at the Beginning of a New Millenium

    Panel Presentation
"Lessons from Literature: Learning to Teach, Learning to Learn"

What lessons about teaching and learning can we draw from the poems, plays,
and fiction we read and discuss with our students? What examples exist
within these texts that help shape our approaches to teaching and learning?
Are there "good" learners and teachers in literature whom we seek to
emulate, or those from whom we learn to do otherwise? If so, how do we
incorporate these examples into our classroom practice?

Papers exploring the impact of such examples on the teaching and learning
of literature are sought for inclusion on a panel proposed for presentation
at the CEA conference in April, 2001.

Abstracts and/or papers should be submitted no later than September 15,
    2000 to the following address:
