    CALL FOR PAPERS: Department of Romance Languages & Literatures,
    Binghamton University, 12th Annual Conference :

                               "TIME, MEMORY, TEXT" March 23-24, 2001

    Guest Speaker: M.C. Dillon, Distinguished Teaching Professor of
    Philosophy, Binghamton University, will speak on: " CONSCIENCE AND
    AUTHENTICITY"

    The conference is designed to explore any issues related to time and
    memory. Papers may relate to the general conference topic in any
    interdisciplinary manner through literature, sociology, anthropology,
    political science, film, art, history, philosophy or religion.

    Suggested Topics:

    Oblivion and Amnesia Myth and Mythology
    Recovered Memory Time Machines
    Invented Memory Time's Paradoxes
    In Search of the Past The Nostalgia of History
    Collective Memory Rewriting the Past
