    Call for Papers

    Panel Session: "Migrating Identities and Explorations of the Self in
    Caribbean Literature"

    The panel discussion will be held at the "Women of African Descent:
    Reaching Across the Diaspora" conference at Southern Connecticut State
    University on October 6-7, 2000.

    We invite paper submissions that explore Caribbean women's literary
    responses to migration, gender, and identity. Papers by Spanish and
    French Caribbean women writers are encouraged. (All presentations must be
    in English, however.)

    Deadline for submission of abstracts is Tuesday, August 1, 2000. Include
    name, home address, academic affiliation and status, telephone number, and
    e-mail address.

    Submit abstract and information via electronic mail to

     (Electronic submissions are preferable.)
