    CALL FOR PAPERS --
    The Overlooked and the Revisited:
New Studies of Margaret Fuller's Manuscripts

    AMERICAN LITERATURE ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONFERENCE
    MAY 24-28, 2001
    CAMBRIDGE, MA

DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF MATERIALS: December 1, 2000

At the May 2001 meeting of the American Literature
Association, the Margaret Fuller Society will sponsor
a panel focusing on Margaret Fuller's manuscripts.

Presenters may investigate any of Fuller's manuscript
writings from marginalia and notes to letters and
essays. Papers might draw attention to the ways that
either returning to specific manuscript pages or
    exploring previously overlooked manuscript pages
supports, challenges, or otherwise expands current
scholarly perceptions of Fuller. Papers could also
discuss contextual and ideological issues of
recently-edited publications or translations of Fuller
    manuscripts.

Please send paper proposals or completed papers to
Deshae E. Lott, Ph.D., English Program, BRK 482,
University of Illinois at Springfield, P. O. Box
19243, Springfield, IL 62794-9243. Include the
following information with your submission: your cv
(complete with name, address, phone and fax numbers,
and e-mail address), your technical requirements
(audio-visual), and your other special requests or
    concerns.

You may submit general inquiries to
    <deshaelott@yahoo.com>.

Final paper versions for presentation should not
exceed ten typed, double-spaced pages; and
presentations should take fifteen to twenty minutes.
