Please post this call for papers for the NEMLA convention to be held in
    Hartford, CT, 3/30-3/31, 2001:

American prison literature problematizes incarceration as the agreed upon
solution to all of our social ills. I am looking for any consideration of
20th century American prison literature from any genre in hopes of
generating a discussion about the relationship between this literature and
the American culture that produced it. Send 1-2 page proposals by Sept.
15 to: Quentin Miller, Dept. of English, Suffolk University, 41 Temple
    Street, Boston, MA 02114; e-mail qmiller@acad.suffolk.edu.
