Call for Papers for LASA 2001
XXIII Congress of the Latin American Studies Association (LASA)
Proposals are welcome for a panel on rock "en español"/"alterlatino" at
the forthcoming LASA Congress at Washington, D. C. in September of 2001.
Proposed papers may concentrate on nationalities; class
structures/clashes; ethnic influence & politics of identity; the market
and/or the media; forms of cultural production; musical genres and/or
subcultures; ideology; gender issues, etc.
Proposals, with a small abstract and brief résumé, should be E-mailed to
fernandez@gsu.edu. Final papers should not exceed 10 pages (20 minutes
delivery).
