February 23-24, 2001
The Center for the Study of the Korean War and the National Archives and
Records Administration-Central Plains Region (Kansas City, MO) invite
papers on any and all aspects of poetry informed by the experience of war.
We are especially interested in Rudyard Kipling and the reading and
writing of soldier poetry, the work of women writers, and the verse of
African American veterans. We are also interested in papers that address
the rise and fall of popular poetry in nineteenth and twentieth century
America and how this affected the production of war poetry.
Keynote speaker and guest poets to be announced.
