We are seeking papers for a proposed panel entitled "Catholicism and
Victorian Women Novelists," to be presented at the Ninth Annual Eighteenth-
and Nineteenth-Century British Women Writers Conference,
March 15-17 in Lawrence, Kansas.
Papers should address any aspects or uses of Catholicism in
novels by nineteenth-century British women. Especially
welcome are papers dealing with influences of Catholicism
on the form and history of the novel; Catholicism and
gender; and the relation of Catholicism to representations
of national identity and colonialism.
