    We are seeking papers for a proposed panel entitled "Catholicism and
    Victorian Women Novelists," to be presented at the Ninth Annual Eighteenth-
    and Nineteenth-Century British Women Writers Conference,
    March 15-17 in Lawrence, Kansas.

    Papers should address any aspects or uses of Catholicism in
    novels by nineteenth-century British women. Especially
    welcome are papers dealing with influences of Catholicism
    on the form and history of the novel; Catholicism and
    gender; and the relation of Catholicism to representations
    of national identity and colonialism.

    Please send abstracts (email or hard copy) by September
