CALL FOR PAPERS
Popular Culture Associations are again meeting in Albuquerque,
New Mexico for the annual conference MARCH 7-10, 2001. The newly renovated
Sheraton "Old Town" Hotel will be the conference center
and headquarters. Area chairs are now sending out the calls for
papers for these expanding organizations and their successful
convention in Albuquerque. Come join the popular culture folks.
PRESERVATION, PUBLIC HISTORY, MATERIAL CULTURE
Our sessions concentrate on
Historic Preservation: the built environment, saved or threatened
Public History: practiced or repressed
Material Culture: displayed or forgotten
Past sessions have ranged widely across the fields of historic
preservation and public history, with outstanding presentations
on buildings, districts, museums, artifacts, monuments, leaders,
characters, programs, artists, architects, disasters, successes,
and you name it when we get to March 7-10, 2001.
Special invited theme: what has your historic district, public outreach,
and exhibit program done through the web and e-world?
Inquiries, proposals, and abstracts should be send by November 1
to the chair for Preservation, Public History, Material Culture
