    CALL FOR PAPERS

    The Elizabeth Madox Roberts Society is issuing a call for papers for a panel
    on Roberts to be held at the meeting of the American Literature Association in
    Boston on May 24-27, 2001. Tentatively titled "Recovering a Lost Masterpiece:
     75 Years of The Time of Man," the panel will focus its attention on Elizabeth
    Madox Roberts's great 1926 novel, celebrating it seventy-fifth anniversary of
    publication in 2001. Proposals are welcome on any aspect of the novel.
    Suggested topics include but are not limited to:

    --The Time of Man in the context of Southern literature
    --The Time of Man and other novels/other novels of 1926
    --The Time of Man and Modernism
    --The Time of Man and the novel
    --The Time of Man and regionalism
    --The Time of Man and feminism

    Papers should be between fifteen and twenty minutes long. One page abstracts
    are due by February 20, 2001, and should be sent via regular mail or e-mail
