                               CALL FOR PAPERS

             "Imagining Home(s): Exploring Culture, Language, Nation"

    We invite g r a d u a t e students of all Faculty of Arts programs to
    submit papers to this year's UBC Arts Graduate Students'
    Conference. Papers should address issues in interdisciplinary studies,
    cultural and literary theory, multiculturalism, nationalism, popular
    culture, and gender and race studies.

    Papers will be accepted in English, French, and other languages. Your
    presentation should not exceed 20 minutes (approx. 8-10 pages in MLA
    format). We also welcome group submissions in the form of topically
    organized panels.

    Please submit a 1 page a b s t r a c t of your paper and a
    short b i o g r a p h y (MLA style). Both the abstract and the
    biography should include the title of your paper. In order to
    maintain anonymity during review, we request that your proposal page does
    not contain your name, and is enclosed in an envelope with your
    biography. Your biography should provide the title of your paper, your
    name, program, year of study, and research interests, as well as your
    email address and your phone number.

    We will notify successful submissions by email.

    Please submit your 1 page abstract and short biography to:
