Call for Papers
Seventh Annual Multicultural Conference
The Ethnic Community in History
April 18-20, 2001
San Antonio College
The focus of this year's conference is the ethnic community in history.
Local and national scholars are encouraged to look at communities from a
racial, linguistic, and/or cultural perspective. The goal of the
conference is to illustrate how groups of people in the United States as
well as around the world organize themselves within their particular
communities.
The boundaries of the conference theme are quite broad and encompass any
study of ethnic communities. Interdisciplinary studies of women's/men's
groups, local or national political organizations, literary clubs,
cultural organizations, etc. are encouraged. We invite faculty,
administrators, and staff to participate in delivering presentations or
reading creative works within the conference theme.
Those wishing to present papers should submit a title and a 100-150 word
abstract outlining the proposed topic and mode of presentation.
Individuals interested in reading creative works should submit samples of
their work. Completed manuscripts should not exceed 10 double-spaced
pages of typescript so that papers can be presented in a twenty-minute
presentation. (Individual submissions only.)
Final selection of conference participants will be made by November 17,
2000.
Deadline for Submissions: November 30, 2000
