    The Willa Cather Society will sponsor two sessions at the American
    Literature Association in Cambridge, Mass., 24-27 May, 2001. One-page
    proposals for the following sessions are invited; deadline is 4 Jan. 2001.

            1) WILLA CATHER'S INFLUENCES ON OTHER WRITERS. This session
    invites papers on writers influenced by Willa Cather's
    writing. Possibilities include F. Scott Fitzgerald, Alice Munro, May
    Sarton, Eudora Welty, and many others. Please send proposals to Robert

            2) Foods, the Cather family quilts, hats, mannish shirts and ties,
    a Persian lady music box, a mink coat, dish clouts, a buttery iron
    spoon--these and other objects have been part of the landscape of Cather
