Some of the most interesting (usually short) Gothic fiction has been
the work of writers better known as domestic novelists, such as Elizabeth
Gaskell or, in the twentieth century, Elizabeth Bowen. Proposals on this
general subject are invited for a panel on Domestic Culture and Gothic
Fiction at the International Gothic Association Conference, to be held in
Vancouver, BC, Canada, from June 14-17, 2001.

Please send your proposals (in the form of 1-2 page abstracts) by December
22 to either June Sturrock, English Department, Simon Fraser University,
Burnaby, BC, Canada V5A 1S6 or to Kate Lawson, English Department,
University of Northern BC, Prince George BC V2N 4Y5. You can also email
submissions or queries to sturrock@sfu.ca or lawson@unbc.ca
