    John Edgar Wideman Society
    American Literature Association Conference
    Cambridge, MA, 24-27 May 2001

    Topic: John Wideman and Family
    Family has been an important theme in Wideman's work, both the fiction and
    nonfiction. Papers can address the theme in the novels and short stories, in
    _Brothers and Keepers_, or in _Fatheralong_. It can also address either the
    ways aspects of Wideman's life have influenced his writing or the literary
    contributions of other members of the family, including his sons Daniel and
    Jake, his brother Robby, or his cousin Albert French.

    One-page abstracts can should be sent in hard copy, fax, or by e-mail (no
    attachments, please) by 15 January 2001 to:
