    CALL FOR CONTRIBUTORS

    OPERA AND LITERATURE IN NINETEENTH-CENTURY ENGLAND

    Co-edited by Michael Eberle-Sinatra (Victoria College, Univ. of
    Toronto), Nicholas Halmi (McMaster Univ.), and Anne Williams (Univ. of
    Georgia)

    We are seeking contributors for a collection of essays that will
    consider the dialogue between music and literature as it emerges in
    opera during the nineteenth century in Britain. The essays may explore
    the adaptation of literary works into operas, the role of opera in
    novels and plays, or the presence of this dialogue in nineteenth-century
    reviews and articles on opera.

    Please submit 250-word proposals by email (but no attachments, please)
