    CALL FOR PAPERS

    Central New York Conference on Language and Literature
    SUNY College at Cortland
    October 28-30, 2001

    Paper and panel proposals are invited for presentation at the Annual
    Central New York Conference on Language and Literature to be held at
    Cortland College of the State University of New York, October 28-30,
    2001.

    Sessions are designed to investigate any aspect of contemporary drama,
    broadly construed. Topics may include trends in dramatic writing,
    theory, or performance, textual scholarship and/or editing issues, the
    role of the senses in the theater, play production histories, the avant
    garde and performance art, drama into film, etc. Historical, cultural,
    structuralist, semiotic, queer, feminist, pedagogical, comparative,
    performance, and genre-based approaches are welcome. Also welcome are
    cross-disciplinary approaches which consider the role of other arts in
    dramatic performance.

    Individual paper proposals should consist of a brief abstract (1-2
    pages) of the proposed paper, the paper title, and the name, e-mail
    address, mailing address, telephone number, and institutional
    affiliation of the participant. Audio-visual requirements should also
    be included. Submission by e-mail is preferred.

    Panel proposals should consist of a session title, a brief description
    of the panel (250 words), a 1-2 page abstract of each paper to be
    presented, the name of the designated contact person for the session,
    and the names, e-mail addresses, mailing addresses, telephone numbers,
    and institutional affiliations of each participant. Audio-visual
    requirements should also be included. Submission by e-mail is
    preferred. Please note that panels should include representatives from
    more than one institution.

    Papers should be no longer than 20 minutes in length for three-person
    panels, or 15 minutes in length for four-person panels.
