    Modern Language Association Convention

    New Orleans, LA, December 27-30, 2001

    The Margaret Fuller Society will sponsor two regular sessions at the 2001 MLA.

    1) Open Topic--proposals are invited on any aspect of Fuller life or
    writings, including her work as teacher, editor, journalist, and political
    activist. Send abstracts, 250 words or less, to Larry J. Reynolds,
    Department of English, Texas A&M University, College Station, TX
    77843-4227; email:LJR@TAMU.edu. Deadline: March 15.

    2) Margaret Fuller's America--proposals are invited on Fuller's visions of
    American society, people, and places; interpretations of specific political
    and historical events; responses to demographic and social changes in New
    England, the West, and New York; connections to American journalism and
    "imagined commmunities." Send 2-3 page proposals and vita by March 15 to
