    Call for Papers:

    Fifth Annual Conference of the Illinois Philological Association

    March 23-24, 2001

    DePaul University, Chicago, IL

    The Association invites submissions in four categories:

    1. From faculty, independent scholars, and graduate students--abstracts or
    proposals (300-500 words) for papers on any aspect of literature, literary
    criticism, linguistics,and composition theory.

    2. From creative writers--original works of fiction, poetry, or drama are
    welcome. Please submit writing sample for consideration.

    3. From undergraduates--creative writing or scholarly papers. Please submit
    the entire text of your paper or reading, accompanied by a supporting letter
    from a faculty member.

    4. From any category of participant--session or panel proposals. Please
    submit a panel description and abstracts of all papers to be included in the
    panel or session.

    The maximum reading time for either creative writing or scholarly papers is
    20 minutes. Sessions and Panels should be no longer than 75 minutes,
    including time for questions and discussion. All readers must register for
    the conference.

    Please provide your address and institutional affiliation. Deadline is
    February 21, 2001.

    Selected papers from the Conference will be published in the online
    Publications of Illinois Philological Association.
