Seeking papers (and possible collaborators on a future book)

Proposed MLA Special Session, New Orleans 2001

"Howard Barker and the Theatre of Catastrophe"

Howard Barker is one of Britain's most controversial and provocative
dramatists, and the theatrical theories presented in "Arguments for a
Theatre" are rapidly acquiring greater recognition. Papers are sought that
relate Barker's theories and practices to the wider context of contemporary
theatre, North American theatre in particular. Papers might compare Barker
to other playwrights (Barker and Tony Kushner as contemporary allegorists),
or investigate the affiliations between the Theatre of Catastrophe and
other theories of theatrical representation. Help expose Barker's art and
    ideas to a wider audience.
