    December 27-30, 2001

The Society for the Study of Southern Literature
    invites proposals for papers on:

    Women and the South Land

Southern womanhood with the idea of the South itself, the challenges women
writers pose to conventional definitions of Southern literature, the
intersection of women writers with the principles of agrarianism, or the
application of ecofeminism or postcolonialism to the work of female
    authors.
