    MLA 2001 (New Orleans, 12/27-12/30/010)

    Records of Genius: The Use of Letter Collections in the Study of the
    Profession of Authorship

    How letters can be used to illustrate an author's career by placing the
    author's work in a cultural, historical, and biographical
    context. Especially welcome are papers addressing the negotiations between
    authors and patrons/publishers or investigations of market pressures and
    publication.

    Submit abstracts to Staci Stone, Murray State University, 7C Faculty Hall,
    Murray, KY 42071 or to staci.stone@murraystate.edu. Please include CV
    (with school affiliation and e-mail address) with your
    submission. Deadline for receipt of abstracts is March 15, 2001.
