                         at Westminster College, Cambridge, UK

The Eighth Annual Conference of the Society for Reformation
Studies will be held at Westminster College, Cambridge, UK, on
17-20 April 2001. The Conference will be held in two parts. The annual
Conference has as its theme 'The Reformation and the Bible'. A special
day is being added to the Conference this year to commemorate the 450th
anniversary of the death of Martin Bucer, entitled
'Martin Bucer: 450 Years on'. Speakers invited to participate in this
session are: Gerald Hobbs, Gustave Koch, Martin Greschat, Andreas Puchta,
Stephen Buckwalter, Gottfried Seebass, Wim Janse, Amy Nelson Burnett,
Hermann Selderhuis, Willem van 't Spijker.

As well as its special themes this year, the Society encourages all
attenders to offer papers in their chosen area of interest. Research
students are particularly invited to share the results of their work
with members. The Society is keen to promote Reformation and
Renaissance scholarship in all its aspects - theology,
    spirituality and related disciplines.

The Society sponsors a journal called 'Reformation and Renaissance Review',
to be published by Sheffield Academic Press. All papers presented at
the Society's Conferences are eligible for publication in this Journal,
subject to the normal refereeing process.

The Society is developing a website at the following URL
http://www.ucl.ac.uk/~ucylpay/ to advertise its work and to act as
a focus for all Society members working in the field of Reformation
    and Renaissance Studies.

The cost of full board at Westminster College for Society members
will be thirty-six pounds fifty pence sterling per person per day.
Non-members will pay an additional fee of thirty-five pounds sterling on
top of all Conference costs. The Conference dinner will be eleven pounds
sterling extra for a three-course meal and two glasses of wine.
Personal membership of the Society is five pounds sterling per annum.

If you would like to attend the Society's Conference, please contact
Dr Paul Ayris, Director of Library Services, University College London,
Gower Street, London, WC1E 6BT, UK. Please note that accommodation at
Westminster College will be in particular demand for the Bucer sessions,
which are timetabled for the afternoon of April 19th and the morning
of April 20th. Please book early!

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like to register for,
or to give a paper at, this Conference.
