    New Voices 2001: 2nd Annual National Graduate Conference in English Studies
    September 20-22, 2001, Atlanta, Georgia

                      **Call for Proposals**
    New Voices 2001 is open to all graduate students in the field of English and
    aims to provide presenters with an opportunity to professionalize their
    contributions to the discipline. Submissions that add to and develop
    discourses/dialogues about literature, theory, Rhetoric and Composition and
    creative writing are encouraged. First time submissions are welcomed.

    Possible topic areas include, but are not limited to:

             American Literature
             British Literature
             Composition Theory
             Creative Writing Pedagogy and Theory
             Gender Studies & Queer Theory
             Linguistic & Language Studies
             Literary/Critical Theory
             Non (anti) Canonical Literature
             Postcolonial Literature & Theory
             Professional & Technical Writing
             Race Studies
             Rhetorical Theory & History
             Teaching Writing/Literature

    Panels and Individual Presentations: Please submit a 1-2 page abstract
    describing your 20-minute presentation, or a 200-word description of
    your panel and a 1 page abstract from each member of the panel. Be sure to
    include the names, institutional affiliations, contact information
    (including email address) and presentation titles for all those who will be
    presenting. If your are submitting electronically, send attachments as Word
    documents only.

    Undergraduate Sessions: New Voices 2001 will be holding special
    undergraduate sessions. All undergraduates interested in presenting
    should submit a 1-2 page abstract describing their 20-minute
    presentation. Include name, institutional affiliation, and contact info
    (including email). If you are an undergraduate and would like help
    preparing a proposal for submission, contact Robin Breault at
    engrrb@langate.gsu.edu.
